I woke to a simply beautiful day.

We received about 20 centimetres of snow last night; it is white, fluffy, deep, and simply beautiful. I was eager to get on my mukluks and walk to the bus top.

The walk was very nice. The temperature was -1 Celsius and the snow was soft and deep. It was still fairly dark out and we are fortunate enough to live on a street that is lined with aged elms on both side. The branches meet over the street and form a canopy over the street. This morning the blowing snow was caused a lovely halo around the street lights and the dark branched were contrasted by the thick white snow.

I found myself grinning like a fool the entire walk and bus ride to work.

It is a good day to be alive. :)
